If your hands are small enough, a vertical grip. But id suggest using it as a stop for a angled type grip. Holding the hand guard in front of the grip and pulling back on it.

Install was tough for me, but thats not what should be looked at. Great investment for your ak, helps the mechanisms greatly. This is how all recoil springs should be made from now on.

!!! WARNING !!! there are two versions of this! Ar and ak. I purchased what seems to be the last ak grip. As i dont see it listed anymore.
This grip is amazing, completely changed the grip on the gun, sad to see it looks like production stopped. There is still another ATI ak grip, but its completely different than this one. This is hands down the best grip ive ever touched. Easy install.

#1 recommended modification.
Easy install. the clearance holes that hold the pin in the trunnion were a very tight tolerance. i had to fiddle around with it to make it fit through and hold the hinge in. The cover release button is a little hard to push in to lift the dog leg rail. But i bought a ALG spring with dead coils so that might help in my case.
All around a good product,
