No issues with Shalotek barrel relative to Sig OEM
Written on Jan 10, 2025
Review for
ShaloTek P365XL Plain Barrel w/ LCI
Normally I buy OEM parts, but the deal on this barrel was too good to pass up so I took a chance. I have run it with a new Sig OEM slide and spring on a p365 to convert it into an xl for fun. Other than a few fails to go into battery with the initial rounds there have been no problems after two range trips. The barrel performed at least as well as in a side-by-side with a factory p365xl. Actually, I was seeing tighter groups with the Shalotek barrel setup, but then who knows if that is real.

New Slide Build
Written on Feb 25, 2024
Review for
ShaloTek P365XC Sentinel RMSC Pistol Slide
I've been looking at this slide on the Shalotek web page for the past 6-9 months. It then appeared on Optics Planet at a slightly reduced price, so I jumped on it. After ordering I received a wait time of 2 months email. One month later I received an update that the slide was shipped. Fantastic! This would be my first build, so I needed to obtain not only the slide internals and optics, but also some tools. This was a somewhat expensive learning process. For example, I purchased a sight pusher tha1 only worked for the rear sight, the M carbo tungsten striker kit did not fit because the slide does not have the hole found in p365 gen 1 slides, and the Sig roll pin would not compress so I had to purchase others off Amazon. Overall, I am happy with the result. Now, I have to go to the range to see if the expense was for performance or looks.

Best Mag Release for My Hands
Written on Jan 12, 2024
I have purchased and tried several mag releases and this is the best. It sticks up high enough that I can reach it and release. It is still a bit of a problem on the p365 grip for me, because my palm blocks release, however, I do not experience this problem with the X grip. The m carbo release is easier to operate, however, it digs painfully into my palm from shooting recoil, so I gave up on the macrbo. To use the Align Tactical release necessitated grinding some of my holsters to enable fit. This was not a big deal.
