In My Own Words:

I have been using and or testing night vision both thermal and photomultiplier (starlight) scopes since the early 1980s. I have primarily been associated with military issue or military R&D equipment from lightweight to crew served to M1 tank mounted syte

Very bright

Much more visible than the red. Only minor con is that the grips are slightly thicker due to the two battery requirement per side for the green laser.

Good companion for your thermal scope.

If you want video of your hunt this is a must have. Only complaint is no audio and relatively short battery life. Good quality video, easy to use. Light weight solid build. Not sure of how well sealed against elements with the little cover over SD card slot.

Do not expect high res views

Written on Jul 22, 2014

I received this as a free gift with the order of a thermal weapon sight. It works ok for close in observing with the built in illuminator. Do not expect great resolution or wide field views. Would be ok for casual use camping. Solid mechanical build and light weight. If you want one for the kids to play with this would be great.

Needs improvement

Reasonable image for a low resolution sensor. DO NOT go by the images presented in the ad or on Armasight's web page. They are not representative of this scope but of the higher resolution models, somewhat deceptive. The operation buttons are very hard to use with normal size finger tips and impossible to use with gloves. The video/ext. power receptacle and provided cable are a disaster waiting to happen. When the supplied cable with it's long stiff strain relief is installed it sticks straight up 3.5 inches above the scope and just begs to get snagged or banged resulting in either a broken cable plug or worse yet a broken scope receptacle. I contacted Armasight to get some explanation about color palettes and scenario functions and got vrtually no useful information from them other than to contact FLIR to ask those questions. Funny, I thought I bought my scope from Armasight! In retrospect I think I would have spent the same amount for a higher resolution scope with more usable control buttons.
