Think opticsplanet may be the only place that guarantees that the eotech being sold is the post 2018 revision with the upgraded battery life. 2,500hrs with the lithium AA effectively guarantees that you can change the battery once a year, even if you hit the range multiple times a week. With an 8 hour auto shutoff, you could turn it on every day for 8 hours, and it'd last ~300 days. Again, if you don't need the always on capability, this is pretty good for peace of mind. I do wish Eotech could create a shake-wake function though - that'd effectively make it an always on optic given the upgraded battery life
