As the picture indicates there isn't much there in the way of weight. If you go with a mlok handguard with only rail on top the beauty of this AFG is that you don't need to attach a rail section to the bottom of your mlok handguard. This saves weight at the end of the gun where you want to save weight.

I have actually replaced AFG's on all mlok handguards just to get rid of the weight of the rail secrtions that I don't need so I can use them on other things I may need.

I am a big fan of this brand of handguard. I especially like how thin it is compared to my old style of full quad rail. I haven't noticed heat issues but just recently bought some magpul lowpro mlok clip on grip pieces just to be sure.

I hate writing negative reviews especially after the amount of research I put in prior to buying this product.

I will say I have had positive experiences with Armasight's Customer service both times in 5 months. The unit is being shipped back to them for the second time, the first time they blamed the fact that I bought it from Optics Planet and they were "worried" about this retailer and should have bought it from them direct. Now that it won't turn on again (on the first outing since getting it repaired), I have lost all faith this is a serious product you can count on. I am not exactly sure what recourse I have at this point as I am too far down the road for a refund.

Don't buy this product, I never even had the opportunity to use it in anything less than ideal conditions and hadn't gotten to pull the trigger with it on my scope yet...

It is pretty cool when it did work though, just need something a little more robust.
