I got this bipod to attach to a qd pic rail by knect. The combo works great for softer recoiling ar applications such as 5.56 or 300blk. The bipod does have play in the legs which can be taken up by loading the bipod a bit but too much and it will slide due to the hard plastic feet. It is easy to find the balance between sturdy and too much forward pressure. The bipod does have a pan feature which is easily locked out by rotating the pan after loosening the bottom tension screw and the cant feature is tight enough when cranked down. With the knect qd mount, I am able to click it on any mlok upper tool free within seconds and have had no issue shooting a 6” gong at 300yds consistently with 10.5”-16” 5.56 rifles. For the price, this is a great option along with the MDT Oryx, which doesn’t have a pan option but is slightly tighter in leg feel.
This optic is superb. It has a very crisp dot with thin reticle when it is not illuminated. While the illumination is not the brightest, the only reason to turn it on is for shooting at a very dark target or going out to 300 plus yards, where contrasts starts to blend while acquiring a small target. The turret clicks are tactile, easy to twist but firm enough to trust to stay seated. The lifting of the turrets to zero is also very quick and user friendly. I think this optic is well above the competition in its price range. It is a little heavy and longer than others but again, for its price it is top notch. The lighter, smaller, more feature rich LPVOs are at least %50 more $.
The function of the trigger is as it should with a few things that could be improved. The pull weight of the trigger feels awful to me which I am a bit disappointed with. The other thing that bugs me are the selector switches, which must be removed while disassembling the pc charger frame. It’s not a big deal but I know that over the years, the little 1/16 hex screw will strip from one or both sides of the selector. The function of the binary trigger functions properly and is fun but hard to control during rapid fire due to the stiffness of the trigger. I also think that there is a learning curve firing binary to stay on target as I only have a few hundred rounds down range on it, it’s definitely different firing on trigger release… Overall, I like it on my PC charger because it’s fun and the Ruger trigger wasn’t much better anyway. I will keep the trigger on this firearm but I will stay away from equipping higher end rifles or PCCs with any binary product due to the unimpressive feel and pull.
