Cheap & good

Written on Nov 22, 2020

This is my go-to gas block if I don’t need anything special like an adjustable. Extremely low profile & lightweight. Inexpensive & they work. KAK makes great products. If you need a basic gas block you can’t go wrong with these.

Better than bikini

Written on May 28, 2020

Very happy with this item. I haven’t had it too long so can’t speak on its durability, but it seems to be a quality product from a quality manufacturer. I expect it to last. It’s much better than the bikini cover that came with my T1. I hate the fact bikini covers aren’t attached & therefore can be lost. This solves that issue. It’s not as nice as flip-up covers, but at only ~$30 it’s well worth it. Lens covers snap together easily & stay together until you intentionally separate them. Same for when they’re covering the lenses. Can be installed easily if you heat it up first. I used a heat gun but a blow dryer should work too. If you hate bikini covers this is a must-have replacement. Highly recommend.

Great irons

Very nice sights. Low profile, lightweight. These don’t seem to be well-known or recommended often but they should be. I like that the ears are rounded instead of glaring outward. The post is very thin, good for more precise aiming. Only concern I have is durability since they’re aluminum instead of steel, but since they don’t lock in position they should fold down instead of sustaining damage. Spike’s is a standup company though so I’m sure they take care of you if they were damaged. They’re a little pricey but occasionally they can be found on sale.

Underrated

Very nice sights. Low profile, lightweight. I like that the aperture slides up/down instead of flipping, that way there’s never any protrusion. These don’t seem to be well-known or recommended often but they should be. Only concern I have is durability since they’re aluminum instead of steel, but since they don’t lock in position they should fold down instead of sustaining damage. They’re a little pricey but occasionally they can be found on sale.

Probably won’t need the warranty

Written on Jul 19, 2019

I carried this knife daily for years. Never had a problem with it. Not even so much as lint getting in & blocking the lock. Just recently lost it so I’ll be buying another Gerber. It has a lifetime warranty but you probably won’t need it. The only negative is the rubberized grey coating on the handle degrades & will wear away & peel off leaving just the orange, plastic handle.

Wanted to like it

Written on Jul 19, 2019

Carried this knife less than a week before I noticed a problem with it. If I opened the blade with any force such as flipping it open or using its “wave opening” feature, the blade lock would overextend & become too tight to release by hand. It’d require a screwdriver or another knife to pry on it to release. If I opened it gently then it would work properly, but that’s not realistic to do every time I need it. Returned as defective. I will be buying a different model to replace it because I don’t want to get the same model & risk having the same problem. Other than this issue I really like the knife. It’s heavy in the hand but doesn’t weigh your pocket down. Very sharp. I like the “wave opening” feature. I really wanted to like this knife but I can’t recommend it based on my experience.

Better than factory light mounts

Written on May 25, 2019

I use these on every longgun I have a light on. It really doesn’t make much sense to add a picrail section to your mlok or keymod handguard for mounting a light. These mounts reduce weight & footprint. They keep the light as low profile as possible. I highly recommend them. They’re not cheap for a small aluminum mount but you get what you pay for & they are quality. Works with Surefire & Streamlight, possibly other brands I’m not aware of.

Great sight

I really like this red dot. It has ALL the features. Solar power, 4 reticle options with bullet drop compensation, motion activation, QD mount. It’s a bit expensive at MSRP but if you get it on sale it’s a great deal. I haven’t overused & abused it yet so I can’t speak to its durability but Sig has a good warranty.

Great handguard

Written on Apr 20, 2019

Sweet handguard. Inexpensive but high quality. Very lightweight as are all 2A products. I like the attachment method because it doesn’t require timing the barrel nut or using shims. (May require slight timing for gas tube but I used on a blowback without one). Only negative is the way you attach the hg to the nut— you have to alternate side to side when tightening set screws, otherwise the hg may end up crooked. But if you pay attention it won’t be a problem.

Very nice grip

Written on Aug 19, 2018

I really like this grip. It’s the perfect length & girth (that’s what she said). Very comfortable in the hand. Decent storage. Looks nice. If you like 90° vertical grips give this a try. You won’t regret it.
