I bought 2 on sale. 1 was dead out of the box but its a vortex so they sent me another red dot. In a week. These are good units. Especially at this price point.

The geometry of these rounds leads to sticking on the way into the chamber. A good polish helps but Berettas in general already have a low incline feed system and feed EVERYTHING else without fault. As a self defense cartridge that is unacceptable. I am not the only person who has had this problem. I have heard other anecdotes.

excellent adjustment

This was easy to install. Construction is solid. 38 adjustments with #18 being full gas #1 to #17 are restricted and #19 to #38 being blowoff. This is excellent as it gives an amazing range of adjustments.

Surprising performance for the money.

At this price I had every expectation of returning it since all of the other brake/blast sheild devices are much more expensive. It is very basic but the gnurled grip covering the blast sheild makes it easy to remove. I have found that it can be turned around and slipped backward over the brake and screwed on. It is then out of the way of your brakes operation and doesn't need any storage solution. Without the sheild the brake works as it should. With the sheild the brake still works only at a slightly reduced capacity. I had to switch it back and forth several times to tell the difference. The blast sheild considerably reduces the sound profile for the shooter and anyone near them by sending that sound down range after it's been through the brake.

No anti tilt mechanism

5 rounds is too short to not have an anti tilt follower. Spring is too heavy to try to make up for this. Same magazine in 20 round works perfectly. No fails in 100 rounds. 5 round mags failed once on avg with 7.62 Nato brass. FtF once on avg with Hornady black. FtG avg 3 times per 5 round mag with Lapua Scenar 175!
