Ultimately, the optics does what it says on the tin so read the specs sheet and make sure you are happy with what it contains. It's OK if you catch it on sale. I haven't noticed a refresh rate issue like some have mentioned. I was disappointed that the tall housing doesn't translate to more usable space. The dot becomes distorted and disappears in the top of the housing. Oh, and to turn off the optic you have to very precisely press both brightness up and down buttons at the same time and hold them for 3 seconds. Very clunky, but you only have to do it once a range trip.
