The Buckles are made of plastic so I could see how they could potentially break under a lot of stress but dont compromise the integrity of the unit if it were to fail. Would be an easy field fix.the shoulder straps would be where the most stress is. The pouches for your plates have a very positive velcro hold covering a lot of space to make a good connection if you wanted to add trauma pads or a flat first aid kit. When shouldering a rifle there is space in the pocket and it is not difficult to get a good sight picture. There is ample padding on the shoulders to prevent fatigue. For a low price carrier this thing is worth the cash. Ample molle webbing and has a couple velcro strips for your nonsense youd like to advertise. Hope this was helpful.
