Ken's Review of CAA Micro Conversion Kit for Springfield Armory .45ACP/10mm

I bought this Xdm version since I have a 2.0 mck on my G45. The 2.0 is the best version so far and took care of pretty much any past issues people didn’t like for the Glock (also suppressor compatible). Being that the 2.0 came out 1-2 years ago and the XDM version just released several months ago I figured it’d be a full 2.0 upgraded version as well. The XDM version won’t stay folded. This was perfectly implemented with the Glock version but this latch on this is straight garbage. It will never fully grab and a simple shake will have it flapping around. The magazine latch is also terrible and was way better on the Glock. It doesn’t grab good and the button doesn’t release it great either. You also can’t take the front shroud out for a longer barrel, muzzle brake or suppressor like the 2.0 Glock. I was going to trade this in for another one but from the other review it looks like none of the magazine buttons work well and the folding stock is poorly done. If you have a Glock I’d highly recommend the 2.0 as it greatly improves accurate performance but for the XDM I think you are hindering your firearm by using this “toy”. Also I tried calling CAA multiple times over a few weeks and it just goes to voicemail and they don’t respond. Terrible company to deal with if you have a problem.
Pros:
  • Sadly none
Cons:
  • Brace doesnt stay folded
  • Magazine latch sticks and doesnt perform correctly
  • no threaded barrel use, not suppressor compatible
  • feels very cheap compared to Glock 2.9 version
Best Used for:
  • Throwing at your assailant
Would Recommend: No
