Most Helpful Positive Review Outstanding conversion kit!
This is an excellent product at an affordable price. Optics Planet has it dialed in. If you’re looking for a conversion kit for your Glock, Springfield Armory, Sig, etc, search no further. Bought this kit for my SA XD45 and it fits comfortably, love it!
Most Helpful Negative Review MCK for Springfield
Well, the latest gen for Springfield pistols have some growing pains...annoying issues that render the chassis as frustrating at times. For starters the brace doesn’t stay folded securely against its body. The nub on the body that “clicks” into the brace is undersized and allows it to flop around at...

Great concept but doesn’t work well

by Eric Naugle, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on April 14, 2025
I was very excited to try this carbine conversion kit with my Springfield XD45. The experience did not go well. The retention lock did not always hold the weapon in place, sometimes coming loose resulting the weapon moving backward. There was a lot of carbon buildup on the slide of the handgun when I removed it. There were several ejection failures. I would not trust this in a tactical situation. I do not recommend this product for the caliber and handgun above.

Unreliable

by AlexG, from TX, United States Written on July 17, 2022
I originally bought for XD45 5” and experienced constant jams and excessive wear on cocking handle. Tech support said it was not compatible but would work with my 4” XD45 And sent replacement charging handle. Same issues continue. I can not in good conscience trust this product to protect me or my family and would not recommend it to anyone.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Unreliable

Great Product!! Well built! The ergonomics on this piece of hardware is awesome. Great grouping from 50 yards out. Goes great with red dot optic. Shipping was fast and smooth. I will definitely buy from optics planet again.

Glock 2.0 version great this one not so much

by Ken, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on March 1, 2021
I bought this Xdm version since I have a 2.0 mck on my G45. The 2.0 is the best version so far and took care of pretty much any past issues people didn’t like for the Glock (also suppressor compatible). Being that the 2.0 came out 1-2 years ago and the XDM version just released several months ago I figured it’d be a full 2.0 upgraded version as well. The XDM version won’t stay folded. This was perfectly implemented with the Glock version but this latch on this is straight garbage. It will never fully grab and a simple shake will have it flapping around. The magazine latch is also terrible and was way better on the Glock. It doesn’t grab good and the button doesn’t release it great either. You also can’t take the front shroud out for a longer barrel, muzzle brake or suppressor like the 2.0 Glock. I was going to trade this in for another one but from the other review it looks like none of the magazine buttons work well and the folding stock is poorly done. If you have a Glock I’d highly recommend the 2.0 as it greatly improves accurate performance but for the XDM I think you are hindering your firearm by using this “toy”. Also I tried calling CAA multiple times over a few weeks and it just goes to voicemail and they don’t respond. Terrible company to deal with if you have a problem.
Pros:
  • Sadly none
Cons:
  • Brace doesnt stay folded
  • Magazine latch sticks and doesnt perform correctly
  • no threaded barrel use, not suppressor compatible
  • feels very cheap compared to Glock 2.9 version
Best Used for:
  • Throwing at your assailant
