Cheap stamped steel and inadequate cable system
Was on sale for about 200 bucks. Tried it out due to all the hype. Cheaply made. Not sure if it will last the year, should have bought trius one step

this is a fun, easy to set up and portable thrower. works great for shooting by yourself

Great but not without teething issues
First outing was great until it started disassembling itself. Multiple fasteners ended up needing proper torque. The linchpin to the whole device, a cable ferrule, popped off causing the pedal charge mechanism to cease working. Was a simple fix after a run to the hardware store; all of the inner workings are easy to get at. Luckily a day of shooting was saved by being able to manually charge it.
The setup and tear down process is simple and fast once you know the steps. Throws are repeatable. There is an ideal pace for pressing the pedal otherwise clays can get crushed. Also found that the last couple clays can have issues feeding; it was better to keep it well topped off.
If not for the teething problems I had, I would have given 5 stars. Great clay thrower for anyone who wants to shoot more trap.

Tricky to set up, but works amazingly
Read the instructions very carefully. There is a very specific process you need to do to set up/break down the mechanism. The tension rod needs to be slid all the way together (it is screwed together in two places, not just the first connection) and screwed in to get tension and it's not very adequately explained in the manual.
Every now and then if you slam the charge pedal too hard it will smash the clay as it drops down into the hopper, but with some practice you won't have this happen.
I like the safety mechanisms it has as these things can be very dangerous if you're not careful.
Overall I think its a great buy. Tons of fun once you learn how it works.

Clay Pigeon Thrower
It's hard to imagine how fun this is. Gathering good friends and family together to enjoy shooting clays together. This sporting clay thrower was ready to go out of the box in 30 minutes. After watching the instructional videos included in the set-up manual, we were quickly shooting clays. After going through multiple boxes of shells the Claymore performed flawlessly. We look forward to many more afternoons busting clay targets!

Caldwell claymore thrower
Have not taken it out yet since it's December in PA and Frozen. I like the thought and concept behind it not needing to lug a battery around. I'll update after use.

Disappointed
Was so excited to get one of these. I had my best friend buy one too. We went out to the field and set both of them up the exact same way. His throws perfect clays every time. Mine broke every clay thrown. We did everything to adjust it. Loosen tension on spring and anything leeks you could think of and out of 180 clays (2 boxes) maybe 20 clays didn’t brake but threw them so weird they kind of wobble out the launcher and went up and to the left. Ruined my 200$!!

Caldwell Claymore is fun and easy to use
I assembled the Claymore trap and shot a few clay pigeons in my backyard. A few days later, four of us threw more than 200 birds through the trap and it worked fine. Once I set it up, it did not need any adjustment. We were able to shoot more because we didn't have to take the time and effort to load a traditional trap. Everyone thought the Claymore trap was great. It is certainly worth the price if you shoot clay pigeons more than a couple of times a year. I recommend it.
