Most Helpful Positive Review Almost great
Got real sick of chasing and searching for my .223 brass since I’m planning to start reloading for .223. This catcher does the trick. It’s fairly easy to put on and take off with a little trial and error and then practice. It works well with my free-floating foreend but I could see if your set-up us...

Most Helpful Negative Review Cheap, but don't expect too much.
I recommended this even though I only gave it 3 stars because it was cheap and I bought it with the intent to modify it to suit my needs. Would not recommend to anyone who thinks they can use as is - you're going to be disappointed. If you fall in that camp, Caldwell has catchers that can be used ...

Brass catcher

Haven't had time to fit it yet to rifle but it looks like it'll work in a pinch still looking for a better method to catch brass
Pros:
  • Quick change out
Cons:
  • Rubber O-rings will break unless you lubricate them

Shouldve purchased one of these a while back. Imagine the time saved policing brass at the range when it seems im the only person that does it. Seems very durable, its lightweight, and couldnt beat the price

It works well enough - good value/ functionality

by PNat, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on July 10, 2022
This catcher worked pretty well with my AR. You have to make sure that it is strapped on TIGHT else as the bag gets full it starts to sag and can cause brass to get caught up in the ejection port. A larger opening or something to support the rear of the brass catcher would be nice.

Caldwell AR-15 Brass

by Mark, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on February 17, 2022
I bought the Caldwell AR-15 Brass Catcher. I have used the Caldwell brass catcher on Smith & Wesson M&P 15 22 and Hammerli Tac R1. The brass catcher worked very well on both. Optic Planet has good prices and shipping was fast.

Brass Catcher for my Stag Model 8

by Scott, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 16, 2013
This product works well once you get it "fitted" to your rifle. It will keep about 30 rounds collected nicely without causing any jamming. (at least with my rifle) Only issue is it can get a little misaligned depending on how much "handling" of the rifle you are doing. But, sitting on a bench rest/sand bags or standing, it collected the brass just fine. Great buy for the money.
Pros: Works as advertised
Cons: Initial fit can be a bit tricky

Great buy for the price, works well

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on June 22, 2013
For the price, it would be hard to beat this thing! I had another brand's brass catcher of similar design, but the opening would not stay opn and brass would pile up at the ejection port. The Caldwell brass catcher stays open and works great - keep my brass from getting dinged up, lost, stepped on, etc.
Pros: Inexpensive, works well
Cons: none

Works as good as I hoped it would. I wrap mines around my AR15 nice and tight, therefore I have yet to have a brass fail to eject.
Pros: works
