This is a lifetime shooting bench
Read about this on a forum and was orginnaly made by some PD hunters, Caldwell got the design and it is a good one. I have owned and built several shooting benches, but none compare to this design in stability, durability and mobility. Not cheap, but not built cheap either. It exceeded my expectations, very user friendly.
Pros: Super sturdy and stable, nice hardwood table top. Imoressive.
Cons: weighs 70 lbs. , but comes apart into 3 pieces to carry and store
Gangly but strong
First of all, assembly was not torturous. The components seem well constructed but I am a bit suspicious of the nylon sheet interposed between sections of the pivot. Instructions were adequate and packing superb. As far as use goes I have not gained enough experience to comment. It is a bit cramped, but I am 6' and 240. I plan to use it to varmint hunt and am not looking forward to loading it up for travel. Perhaps a carry bag might be in order.

Very well built product and is great for sight in and shooting out to 300 yds. Past that distance it would be ok for hunting but is not sturdy enough to shoot accurate long range groups in my opinion. Maybe the Hardwood model would be more stable?

Great bench to be portable. It is higher than most others but is a lot more stable which allows longer range shooting. Easy to assemble and has a comfortable seat.

SplitHoof
A very well constructed portable shooting tool. When placed under a decent shade canopy, this bench rest is very good for long range shooting out in the deserts. The molded top version keeps brass, ammunition, and anything else from rolling away, and the whole setup can be easily leveled with the heavy duty leg cams. A real tool for the professional.

Caldwell BR Pivot premium shooting bench
In the process of assembling the bench I found that you also will need a 1/2 inch drill bit to ream a few of the holes for the leg and feet attachment as some of the pins would not fit through the pre-manufactured holes as they left the factory. Overall EASY to assemble and fantanstic bench. If you are a serious shooter this bench is worth the extra money spent.
