Most Helpful Positive Review Caldwell Lead Sled Shot Carrier Bag, 4 Pack
At $2.00 per pound, lead shot can prove very expensive to fill four 25-pound bags. Instead try putting a large "zip-lock" inside the Caldwell bag and fill it with clean sand; it's not quite as heavy but will do the trick if you use all four bags. Pros: Easy to handle, practical, fit their purpose exactly Cons: None (Except that 100 pounds of lead shot is expensive!)

Caldwell Lead Sled Shot Carrier Bags

by MPHIII, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on June 26, 2024
I received the order right before Fathers day and opened it up on fathers day. I ordered 2 of the "Size: Standard Quantity: 4" the one had 4 bags in the package the other only had three. I was a little disappointed at that however, they are good shot bags and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a decent shot bag just remember to check on how many you receive.

Good sturdy bags

by MarkR1256, from PA, United States Written on August 3, 2017
These bags are not flimsy, sturdy construction and just the weight needed to help steady your shooting rest. I filled mine with sand in ziplock bags so I wouldn't have it gunning up the zipper, much cheaper than lead or steel shot. Nice handle on them too. You can really weight these bags down!
Pros:
  • Sturdy construction, durable materials
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • For weighing down your rifle rest

THE PERFECT BAG FOR CALDWELL'S LEAD SLED

by T Man, Verified Owner from OK, United States Written on August 26, 2014
These are a perfect fit when filled with 12.50 pounds of number 9 shot. Shot is sold in 25 pound bags and if a full bag is inserted into the Caldwell bag it will not fit under the rails. However if the 50 pounds of weight is needed these bags can be placed on each side of the rails on top of the trays.

Go's with the rest

by wardog, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on August 26, 2014
You don't have to have these's bags for your rest. But 25 lbs is a lot of weight. The handles are the best part of these bags and make them easy to pick up and move. I'm ok with buying them and i will use them every time I use my rest.

Good bags for the price

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on April 18, 2013
Pretty impressed for the price. Seem very durable. Has a waterproof?resistant? membrane inside, although slightly pointless because the zipper is neither. Zipper is too large IMO, makes it hard to fill up to max capacity. Zipper doesn't always seal shut enough to keep the shot inside, occasionally I'll hear 1 or 3 roll out and the the floor if I turn them upside down a lot. Wish it had a velcro closure like the Caldwell shooting bag rests! Gets the job done in the end, it'll take a lot of shot falling out over several years (probably) to really knock the zippers.
Pros: Has a waterproof membrane, seem like solid construction
Cons: Zipper is too big, can let moisture in, doesn't always seal up shot pellets
