Reviews & Ratings for Caldwell Pistol Zero Shooting Rest
— 10 reviews — Page 1
When I first opened the box I thought is was too much like a Fischer Price child's toy. For a serious shooter who is not a gun range person, this might be a too flimsy, and not "professional grade". It does work well enough however when you get it set up. If I owned a gun range, I would have seve...

Good stabilizing platform which I was able to use to dial in my pistol optic at the indoor range. It is light weight and has some flex, so need to apply downward pressure to keep it from moving. A heavier setup might be easier to use but would have drawbacks with portability.
Pros:
light weight
works
easy set up
Cons:
flex
light weight
Best Used for:
Zeroing
Would recommend: Yes

This thing is very light and sturdy at the same time. Has more than enough adjustment it comfortably fit my Glock 19 and my Smith and Wesson 500 magnum with a 8 3/4 barrel.

Took this nifty little item to the range to zero a couple of handgun sights. It definitely made that task much easier. Zeroing my handgun sight was a breeze. The only complaint that I have is it’s a little bit cheaply made. Otherwise, it’s a good tool to have.
Pros:
Handy
Steady and many adjustments for fine tuning
Cons:
Cheap construction
Best Used for:
Zeroing sights or scopes
Would recommend: Yes

Thin plastic but it does what it is supposed to do. I added a piece of 2x6 into the bottom to stiffen it up and it added some weight also. Just cut to length and 45* at the rear to clear the feet mount. Screw in place.
Pros:
Great price and nice rest.
Cons:
Thin plastic in base allowing flex. Solved by adding 2x6 lumber.

This is a very inexpensive shooting rest, but sufficient to sight in most handguns. The adjustments are very well thought out. You align the front/rear distance by moving the back rest to an appropriate slot. Put the gun in the front cradle, and dial up the height you need to get on target. It holds the gun in place very well. It is made of very light weight injection molded plastic and will move around during each shot, but for $20 it's a great rest. You could probably stabilize this thing by stuffing some lead weights or sand bags in the hollow cavity underneath.
Pros:
Works well, low price
Cons:
Very light weight
Best Used for:
sighting in a hand gun
Would recommend: Yes

as an entry level rest, I found it worked, however I found the rear platform somewhat weaker that what could be ,so I followed the you tube review.and added a wooden stiffener underneath. works better now.
Pros:
price, was on sale
Cons:
structural bracing
Best Used for:
light use
