Now that my daughter is old enough to start learning how to navigate in the woods I wanted to get her a quality compass for Scouts (GSA and Scouting America). When I saw the special edition of one of my most trusted and valuable pieces of gear I knew it was the right choice. Also, as a retired soldier and someone who insisted on training all my soldiers on how to navigate with map and compass incase GPS failed, I would have loved to see a troop break out a pink lensatic compass.
