Work great, very handy
Very well made shelf in a much needed location. Instructions are clear and concise. Took five minutes to install, just 10 cross-tip screws plus the existing four removed and reinstalled in the smoker sides to accommodate the brackets. I love having the front shelf now, especially for adding or taking things off the smoker and managing the lid. Just lift and drop and it is out of the way. Definitely recommend.
Overall, I really like Camp Chef products. Their smokers have features no one else bother with.

necessary addition
this is a necessary addition to your camp chef grill. It is sturdy and blend right in with the grill, and it doesnt get in the way of the lid handle like the wire shelf does. I would buy this shelf again

Must have item.
The grill already has a nice shelf on the side to place things but with this front shelf it's so convenient to move things on and off the grill while cooking. When it's up and secure it doesn't stick out and get in the way that you would feel like your reaching over it. It gives you just the right amount of shelf space to do what you need. When it's folded down it's completely out of the way and it fits under the cover if you have one. This front shelf really is a must have item for the grill. You won't be sorry you got it.

Missing parts
Upon opening the box I realized there were parts missing that were necessary for the shelf to operate. I contacted Optics planet they responded to me about two weeks after that only to tell me that I would have to contact Camp Chef for the missing parts. I did so and have never received a response back.

The Shelf is very Handy
The shelf arrived on time and undamaged with all of the hardware. My old DLX model did not have holes for it. If you have to drill holes in your grll you'll need bolts, washers, and nuts - 4 of each. They're less than 1 dollar at Ace. Installation took about an hour and it fits perfectly, folds down and raises easily, and is very useful when putting food on and taking it off the grill. It's quite strong
