Review after 8 months use - Carson 3D 10x42mm Roof Prism Waterproof Birding Binoculars

This little pair continues to impress me. I've tried several other pairs off and on the last 8 months, and to tell you the truth, it just made me more appreciative of these compact and reliable Carsons. I tried the Vortex Talon 10 x 42 on close out sale. Ha, way too ungainly and not even close to the quality and handling of these Carson 3D. Next I tried the Vortex Viper in 10x42. Nice, bright image, but in truth no better than these for a lot more money. Not many sub-300 dollars binoculars can get you this much image, fit, balance and brightness in a very pleasing compact package.

If I was a casual buyer and needed only one pair for bird-watching, hunting , hiking, camping or whatever, I think these might be all that is needed. They are just that good.

BTW: The 10x42 are more compact than the picture portrays. That's a good thing....
