Ordered the 8X42 before, was satisfied so I ordered the 10X42 for my son. Happy with both sets and found Optics Planet an excellent company to conduct business. Highly recommend both. Love how able to access binoculars without removing from case.

When I say I did my research on binoculars...trust me, I went OCD on this. I went to numerous stores (Dicks, Cabela's, local retailers)to put hands and eyes on different brands. I spent time looking through every pair I could in my price range, then back and forth again to try to discern the differences between the quality of each pair. I even compared high end pairs from Zeiss and Swarovski to see the hype. I read countless reviews as well. My favorite after all that was actually the Monarch 5's from Nikon. No one local carried the Carson's but all the reviews I read said that they were very comparable to the Monarch 5's. As an added bonus the Carson's come in camo (I'm a hunter) and they include the shoulder harness. So on the blind I ordered the Carson's from Optics planet. I couldn't be happier. They are just as clear and crisp as the Monarch 5's, plus camo, plus the harness for the same price.

I bought these specifically for a trip to Africa for safari and whale watching. I debated a long time over price vs brand vs reviews and landed on these, which I was initially a bit wary of simply because I was not familiar with the brand, but they did not disappoint! The dim-light viewing is better than I ever would have expected, and I have a slight prescription, but with these I feel like my vision is 10x better than when I wear my glasses- so crisp and clear and I am able to dial in the view for spectacular clarity. I can’t recommend these enough! I didn’t take the harness strap simply because of bulk, but it is pretty awesome and I can’t wait to use these for everything!

This little pair continues to impress me. I've tried several other pairs off and on the last 8 months, and to tell you the truth, it just made me more appreciative of these compact and reliable Carsons. I tried the Vortex Talon 10 x 42 on close out sale. Ha, way too ungainly and not even close to the quality and handling of these Carson 3D. Next I tried the Vortex Viper in 10x42. Nice, bright image, but in truth no better than these for a lot more money. Not many sub-300 dollars binoculars can get you this much image, fit, balance and brightness in a very pleasing compact package.

If I was a casual buyer and needed only one pair for bird-watching, hunting , hiking, camping or whatever, I think these might be all that is needed. They are just that good.

BTW: The 10x42 are more compact than the picture portrays. That's a good thing....

These binoculars are espectacular for the price! They do have great on low light conditions. If you want similar binoculars, you will need to spend a few more dollars! You can easily compare these binocular with more expensive one such as: Vortex Optics Viper Hd 10x42 Roof Prism at double the price, Nikon Monarch 7 at a couple of hundred $ more, etc.

Excellent quality binoculars for the money. Binoculars look good, feel good in hands, solid made and focus easily. The clarity is excellent with the ED glass. I bought these for hunting and regular viewing. I would recommend these binoculars for anyone wanting to pay a moderate price for an excellent pair if binos. Optics planet also did an excellent job in shipping them to me quickly.
