I needed a "hands free" method of magnification. My eyes are not what they used to be - my 3" focal distance is ... well, a LOT more now! I bought these primarily to be able to see close enough to get splinters out of my hand. The secondary reason, although a pleasant one, is I can examine things up close again, and have a hand to hold the item and a hand to manipulate. They work great for both purposes. With 2 magnification choices, you can see what you want. The double ball-joint articulation gives you complete flexibility to move the lens where you want it, or out of the way.
The only "con" was there were no instructions. Everything was self-explanatory except how to mount it to a pair of glasses. At first I tried sliding them on. After a few unsuccessful attempts I noticed if you squeeze the bridge and nosepieces, it actually works like a spring hinge and easily opens enough to get them mounted. Then it automatically closes securely so it won't slide off or around. Probably those who have used this kind of thing before would know this; but it's a first for me. A great useful product for me and will buy more if/when this one ever wears out. It does it's job well.
Pros: Price, clarity, flexibility; does the job.
Cons: No instructions - but pretty much self-explanatory
Would recommend: Yes
