This is my first Cas Hanwei, Paul Chen katana. It has beautiful 29 inch blade of K120C folded steel.
The temper line [hamon] is outstanding, the layers of the folded steel [hada] are evident. The blade is in high polish and of traditional design.
The tsuba [guard] is of a tiger motif in blackened iron and detailed in gold/very interesting. The tsuka [handle] is covered in white ray skin wrapped with premium Japanese cotton. The other fitiings [koshirae] are all well done in blackened bronze. Nice...
The wood scabbard [saya] is a covered in black enamel with cast iron fittings to match the sword. All tightly assembled under exact quality. The sword comes in a finely made cloth bag and a maintenance kit/ all well packaged. The blade is extremely sharp and a work of art.
