These rounds are incredibly quiet out of a bolt action rifle. Sounds like an air rifle. Doesn't spook the varmints or live stock. The round nose version (item 960) is less expensive and is used for plinking by us. Running them through a Marlin 39A using a know your limits steel target at 100 yards great fun and challenging. They do not cycle a 10/22, but CCI offers semi auto version (item 975CC) I have yet to try. The biggest issue with these is finding them in stock. They move fast when available. Everyone that has shot these at my place has liked them and gone on to buy some.
pretty quiet!
I would recommend through a bolt action. Not cycling my semi auto.

Received order very quickly and package was in excellent condition. The ammo ordered was packaged very nice. I would strongly suggest buying this ammo, shoots very clean and are a very inexpensive way of controlling your unwanted possums and field mice.

dependable on small pest/varments
This ammo is close to as quiet as a high powered air rifle - I've shot literally hundreds of chipmunks, invasive starlings, European sparrows and rats with this round and this bullet is very accurate for close work - if properly placed with head shots the segmented bullet will also instantly stop destructive groundhogs and raccoons - it is my favorite round to use to avoid noise attention from the neighbors, especially for nightime work on the burgening raccoon population in my sweetcorn patch plus the added benefit that I can score multiples due to the low noise which is less like to scare off the fellow invaders - my long-term choice for close and quiet work on pests
Pros:
- quiet & accurate
Cons:
- expensive and short range
Best Used for:
- close pests, especially at night to keep the neighbors happy
Would recommend: Yes
