Most Helpful Positive Review Great Telescope
I've owned this telescope for nearly 2 years now, and it has been worth every penny. The Schmidt-Cassegrain optics, with the StarBright XLT Coatings, provides a very clear and sharp image. The twin fork mount and heavy-duty tripod are super-steady, and the SkyAlign computer with GPS is very acc...

Wow.................

by Wayoutthere, from MT, United States Written on January 17, 2019
This is my second telescope along side my Cassini 1202. Both have two inch lens tube which I really like. Am new to the stars & space (not the skies though) with an interest of what could be out there. The picture on the celestron is very impressive to say the least with excellent quality in craftsmanship. It is sturdy and well built with weight being solid for stability on the Tripod. My bang for the buck could have not gotten me any better with the celestron purchase. The scope is easy to use with the manual settings being tight for motion. It’s a fine TOOL for the purpose being served. Thanks celestron. There is a whole knew bunch of worlds out there waiting to be explored. I am exploring ..........sjkflm

Beautiful piece of equipment

by StarsForSeniors, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on February 4, 2018
I bought this in early December and didn't get it until ate January but the telescope is professional grade. The tripod that it comes on is well built and easily accommodates the full weight of the scope. The assembly directions were surprisingly easy to follow even though not spelled out on a couple of the smaller parts. The power, view of the night sky is quite magnificent. The one issue I had with this model is its weight. Its heavy. 58 lbs is nothing to sneeze at. Plus the tripod. Not portable. My use is backyard - on the patio. I'm not traveling any distance with it but to get this into a mid-sized car would be a challenge. An SUV or equivalent is necessary if you want to get to country areas. I decided to return it for an easier to manage telescope. I'm waiting for the Celestron NexStar Evolution 8in EdgeHD Telescope. It is fully automated with smartphone app control.
Pros:
  • Professional grade
Cons:
  • very heavy to transport

So far so good but noticed the hand control names actually listed on it do not match the instruction booklet, so that tels me celestronhow did not take the time to update the instruction book. I have only had the scope for 2 weeks and am looking forward to better weather conditions. I ordered new televue eyepieces to come in soon so I should know what I have next week.

High Quality Serious Astronomical Telescope

by Sebastian, from OR, United States Written on January 1, 2013
This is the famous celestron CPC telescope series. Medium size aperature of 9.25'' capable of giving lots of detail and great light gathering capability. Dual Fork Arm Mount is very stable, even for long exposure photography on wedge alt-alz mode. An excellent telescope for the price. Much better than Meade LX-90 for same price. If to choose, I will pick this compared to an Meade LX-90 or Meade LX-200 (Due to weight reason)
Pros: Great Optics, Good Mount
Cons: A bit on heavy side

Celestron CPC 925 11074-XLT with tripod

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on December 31, 2011
Upon opening both shipping boxes, for the telescope and tripod, I found old shipping papers. Both the telescope and tripod were originally sent to Optics Planet in October 2009 from the Celestron factory. I ordered/received my order in October 2011.
Therefore, I have received a two year old telescope when I expected a NEW-NEW telescope.

During a telephone call to the Celestron factory representative, I was told how to receive a free software upgrade and which new patch cable I will need to bring the two year old telescope up to current standards.

Pros: Great scope
