Astrobob's Review of Celestron FirstScope Telescope 21024 Reflector 76mm Tabletop Telescopes
I have many scopes ranging from this one that I won at a star party up to a $50,000 scope. I also have a 100mm Orion Sky Scanner 100mm scope very similar to this. The Orion costs a bit more than twice as much but is a much superior scope optically and the eyepieces on this are nothing to write home about. The Orions are better. The Orion also includes a red dot finder that is really a needed device to help the user find objects faster. That being said...if you really MUST have the cheapest scope this is passable but frankly if you intend to stay with it...the Orion is a better choice...and is a larger aperture. Even for those who are very advanced these tiny scopes have a place. They are very portable, fast setup, and the images are OK for a grab and go scope. I do a huge amount of public outreach and this is the type of scope you can give to young kids to handle without being worried about them damaging it...and they won't be intimidated like they are on our large scopes. Last word...I am a fan of Celestron scopes and can recommend any product by the company.
