I had a chance to critically check two of these against a Nikon ED 50mm and Celestron M2 80mm. Optics of 65mm are nearly equal to Nikon and better than M2 80mm. Focus is precise, snaps into focus and mount is solid enough to resists shake on good tripod. I found I could read 1" print on a sign at 150 yards in dim light. Could not notice any brighter image on 80 mm, and softer focus and less rigid mount on that scope makes the 65mm my choice.
Pros: Sharp, clear optics, precise focus, solid mount, moderate weight.
Cons: Weight balances towards eyepiece, eyepiece cover hard to thread
