Celestron regal M2 65 ED
I have had the good fortune to be able to test this scope out the last couple months. I use it primarily for scouting mule deer but don't see any reason it wouldn't work equally well for birding or target shooting. This spotter has a bright, clear image that makes it a joy to look through. Construction of the celestron rivals that of higher end optics. I've had the pleasure to compare this spotter side by side with a vortex razor with great results, the vortex, while being brighter and a very small amount clearer would not convince me to pay double the price of the celestron. The focus is shar...

spotting scope
I got this scope for shooting matches up 1000 yards and practice at various other distances. Itwworks great at matches for scoring and with splatter targets I can see the holes out to 600 yards. The image is very clear and well defined even with a bit of mirage going on. Focusing is easy and precise with the primary and fine adjustment dials. The case fits perfectly, even with the tripod attachment. It's also great for celestial viewing, with clarity throughout the field of view. This scope is as clear as other scopes that cost twice as much. Just make sure you don't skimp on the tripod. You need a good, solid and easily adjustable tripod to get the full benefit from this scope. Ordering from optics planet was painless as usual and they had the best price around..and I looked alot. Don't think about it anymore, get this scope..you will be a happy camper.

REVIEW OF CELESTROM REGAL MW
GOOD Quality, clear glass. setup is fast. I shoot mid range and long range competition. Compact and light weight. I do wish the zippered cover was 1/2 longer, it would take the stress off the zippers.

Excellent optics and great value
I had a chance to critically check two of these against a Nikon ED 50mm and Celestron M2 80mm. Optics of 65mm are nearly equal to Nikon and better than M2 80mm. Focus is precise, snaps into focus and mount is solid enough to resists shake on good tripod. I found I could read 1" print on a sign at 150 yards in dim light. Could not notice any brighter image on 80 mm, and softer focus and less rigid mount on that scope makes the 65mm my choice.
Pros: Sharp, clear optics, precise focus, solid mount, moderate weight.
Cons: Weight balances towards eyepiece, eyepiece cover hard to thread
