While I can only compare the C5 to your standard 60x scopes that you can rent at the range. I must have read hundreds of reviews on every manufacturers products but what finally made me choose the C5 was that if it didn't work well as a spotting scope I could give it to my grandson and he could use it to look at the stars. When it arrived I was a little taken aback by the size of it. It comes with a 50x eyepiece but I went ahead and ordered an auxiliary set of 5 eyepieces and filters to give me a myriad of power options.
Well I was not disappointed with the operation and extreme clarity of the C5. For range use I don't think you can beat it. You must have a good tripod to handle the size of the C5. By the way, I used it to look at Jupiter and my grandson gave it a huge thumbs up. I guess I'm going to have to buy him his own C5.
