This lens and filter kit is a great addition to a telescope with a 1.25” eyepiece. Allows one multiple magnifications to see details and deep space objects. The Barlow lens allows twice the number of magnifications and filters allow one to see various planetary details.

Good quality eyepieces. I'm new to astronomy and got them to spend time staring at the stars with my kids. They love using them and can't wait to try the filters. Missed a few events but hope to get out and really explore when it gets warm out.

I was looking for a single purchase to improve my telescope to see the moon and planets better and this was the recommendation of the representative at Celestron. It made a great difference in the magnification and clarity of Jupiter and three moons the first time I used it, even with an almost full-moon nearby.

A great set of filters that enhance almost anything you wish to view. It should, however, include a uhc/lpr filter as part of a standard set. Having a handy group of filters for almost all sessions is a boon to enhance any viewing party.

I have not used it much, but since it was inclued in the "package" with the 5SE I purchased, I have explored its uses. The case is not all that great, but the contents blend well with the 5SE. I am happy with the 5SE and how its usefulness is enhanced with the kit.

Handy case and useful tools
Pros: good kit for the money: eyepieces, filters, barlow 2x, and a case I've expandedfor other items
Cons: maybe let the customer choose the eyepieces from a list

The image reversal you spoke of is completely normal for the telescope. You can use an erecting prism to flip the image back to what the naked eye sees, but this is only really necessary for terrestrial viewing. Also, aligning the red dot finder is a rather simple process and will aid in aligning the scope overall toward what you would like to view. All of the following should be done with a low power eyepiece. During daytime, first point the telescope at a distant land based object (radio tower, treetop, etc. being careful to not point the scope at the sun) and center it in the field of view. Tighten any knobs to lock the telescope in place then use the windage and elevation knobs on the finder to place the red dot over the object in the telescope. Double check that the object is still centered in the telescopes field of view. To finely align after this rough alignment is made, find a bright star at night and center in the telescope. Then adjust the finder so the red dot is over the star. You will probably have re-center the star in the telescope and adjust the finder several times to get it perfectly aligned.
