Having been in Astronomy for quite some time I got the Celestron Travel Scope 70 as my all around Telescope. It takes a while to learn how to use the Telescope to see the Moon, the Planets, The stars and Star Constellations. One thing I noticed while using the Telescope the Central Column shakes a little. One doesn't have to raise the Central Column just the Legs of the tripod. Another great Advantage is you can use the 45 degree diagonal or you can buy a 90 degree Diagonal from Celestron or another Vendor.Also for the Finders Scope I Bought a Finders Scope the Celestron Star Pointer Red - Dot Finder scope item # 51630. All in all this is a Great Telescope. One great issue and problem you will be addicted to this Telescope and you will enjoy it.

Having a Telescope like this one is Great. Having used many tripods to use with this particular Telescope is a bit overwelmed. But the great thing about this Particular Telescope is that it came with a very nice portable compact Tripod and a 45 degree diagonal and two eyepieces a 10 mm and a 20 mm eyepieces plus a backpack and a CD about Astronomy. About the Tripod, some review said the Tripod should not be used and it's not a very good Tripod. I disagree. many people who have this Telescope uses the Tripod, I am one who like the Tripod very much it's a really good one if you do get this Telescope the Tripod is really great.

Having been in Astronomy since 2018, and have many Telescopes and two Binoculars I have found that the Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope a very unique Telescope, it comes with two eyepieces a 10 MM and a 20 MM Eyepiece also buy a Celestron Mars Filter plus a Celestron Moon Filter, and in addition you can buy a 2X Barlow Lens. As for the Tripod that came with the Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope I feel that it's a compact Tripod easy to use and store in the backpack, one thing about it it's not hard to use you just have to learn how to use it at first it may seem very hard to use but you can put it on a table a park bench or a picnic table, but in time the Tripod that comes with the Celestron Travel Scope 70 telescope will be easier to use. It just takes time to get used to it and in time using the Tripod with this great Telescope kit, also I find it very useful and very plus it has an excellent Diagonal and a excellent Finders Scope easy to use take your time and you will like and love the Telescope and Tripod.

Having been in Astronomy since 2018 I can honestly say this is a Great Telescope. I own rather a lot of Telescopes, I own the Celestron AstroMaster LT 70 AZ Telescope, I own the Celestron First Scope, I own the Orion SpaceProbe II 76 mm Altazimuth Reflector and I own the Orion GoScope III 70 mm Refractor Travel Telescope. But I basically like the Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope and I use in addition to the Telescope the Orion GoScope III Refractor Travel Telescope. These two Telecopes have there own Tripod and that's a big plus, I don't plan on buying a new Tripod to use with these Telescopes plus they also have a backpack. Having these two Telescope are compact and easy to assemble and then pack them into there backpacks, plus for using them I use a chair. Even the instruction manuals are very easy to read. For the Celestron First Scope I plan to store the Telescope and use it in the future that telescope the Celestron First Scope is easy to store and it's easy to use if I want to. Plus if I use another Tripod to use with my Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope Photo Tripods are very hard to use they are big and those Tripods are not easy to work with the two Tripods that are used with the Telescopes the Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope and the Orion GoScope III 70 mm Refractor Travel Telescope the Tripods are easy to use just take them out of the Backpack attach them to the two Telescope and when finished just detach them very easy.

I have purchased the Celestron travel Scope 70 Telescope because I wanted something to use. I plan to take the Telescope to my sisters house if I am going to visit her. The Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope came with the Tripod but I will use it when I am traveling. The Tripod is Great but it's very useful when I want to transport the Telescope to observe. The Telescope is great to do Terrestrial Observing and it's Great to look at Birds, Trees and things during the day. The Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope is Great to use during the Night Time when you want to see the Moon, The Planets, the Stars and Star Constallations. The Aperature is 70 MM and the Focal Length is 400 MM and the Telescope is a Refractor. If you get the Telescope you should also get a Celestron Star Pointer Red Dot Finders Scope item number 51630 and also to improve the Tripod you can also purchase the Meade Instruments Classic 30 Photo Tripod.

Great little travel telescope, I would definitely recommend getting a sturdier tripod along with a few filters and magnifying lens. It's perfect for looking at the moon and rocket launches but the tripod is too wobbly to fix the telescope on something smaller in size without a lot of patience.

this scope is fine for short ranges and needs to be upgraded to become an astro telescope there was much info as to parts need not be from say tel comp that you bough from as most are interchangeable will order some + 3 lens and a few lens and rridod if looking at night sky

Bought it for the grandson. His dad knows the constellations and enjoys meteor showers etc. so this was a natural fit for an 8 year old. For an entry level scope this was just right. Good optics and not a wallet buster. Everything received was in good condition. The bag should help with keeping the kit together. Could use a better tripod but that would run the price up. If they decide to upgrade later....I'll let dad take care of that.
