William Wright's Review of Celestron Ultima 100 Spotting Scope 100mm w/ 22-66x Zoom Eyepiece, 52252
We have been taking our spotting scope in Yellowstone for years. We share views w/ anyone nearby that would like to see animals(usually bears). Several years ago we stopped by a park ranger who was a wolf expert. He had a Swarovsky $2500+ telescope w/ an 80mm aperture fixed on a wolf over a mile away. People were viewing the wolf through his scope & ours they all commented that they could see the wolf much clearer in our scope because it let in more light. The key seems to be a bigger aperture lets in more light & produces a brighter image. For the money Celestron Ultima 100 is the best buy on the market. Make sure to get a quality tripod to mount your scope that is sturdy.
