Bern's Review of Celestron Ultima 100 Spotting Scope 100mm w/ 22-66x Zoom Eyepiece, 52252

This $600 scope that I picked up by stacking coupons at Optics-Planet is better then 99% of the scopes priced 3 times higher, and unless I’m going to spend that $3,000 on a Kiowa , this will do fine. 100MM is large and heavy so you will need a substantial tripod and I can honestly say this scope picks up regular targets at 500 yards on .22 LR (my rifles on Ely ammo shoot that far), and /223/5.56 hits as well as .308 targets at 500 yards with no problems, and reactive targets picked up 40% more in range. Yes, I love Vortex for the guarantee and Leopold for the name, but this deal could not be passed up, and you would have to be crazy to pass it up at any price below $450. Clear fields even until low light and the best deal you will ever find for the money period.
Pros; Great Optics without high costs and uses the Vanguard VS-86 tripod bench scope with no problem.
Cons: Heavy and does not come with a hard case, + I wish I would have bought 2 of them at this price.
Would Recommend: Yes
