Most Helpful Positive Review 9mm X-CEL LX
Didn't like the twit-up eye cup at first, but makes adjusting eye relief easy. Used for binoviewing. No aberrations , but it's used in F8 reflector and F10 SCT. Great eyepiece esp given it's price. Pros: very sharp, twist-up eyecup, easy to handle Cons: none

X-Cel LX 7mm

by Cee, from AZ, United States Written on June 27, 2017
The eyepiece (or at least the one I got) has visible "crud" between the lenses and found its way to the back of my box very soon... never use it, except maybe for a paperweight. I have always wanted a 7mm and this is a very poor example... at 80 bucks I didn't expect a Nagler, but the out of the box dirty condition was a disappointment... I wasn't able to use or inspect it until after the return policy expired... My advice ?? Do not waste your money...save up the pennies for quality.... I have been an Optics Planet customer for years and do not blame them for this.... I blame shoddy quality and outsourcing to another country than Japan... Celestron blew it with this line.... QA/QC sorely lacking.

Celestron X-Cel eyepiece

by Denise, from TX, United States Written on December 12, 2016
Fits my Celestron telescope perfectly. Great addition to my lens collection. Takes great pictures of the moon with the use of my iPhone and iPhone adaptor. It is easy to set up and focus. Connects to my other Len expander for super close ups. Who recommend it to all my friends who love viewing the nighttime sky.

Super crisp views for the price

by LordTomas, from OH, United States Written on October 26, 2015
When you buy most telescopes you get a few eyepieces that are junk. These eyepieces would make most beginners continue viewing the skies. These would make you love your scope. I bought a 7mm and was able to use it in my Celestron 130EQ the other night to view the moon. Boy did things change from the eyepieces that came with my scope. It was so crisp from edge to edge and the field of view was crazy. I had to look up/down and side to side just to see all it showed. I can't even imagine what the 25mm would look like. These range from $65-$99 all over the net. So for any telescope you buy, or have bought, please think of adding one of these or all to your collection. You will LOVE it!! By the way, these come in a retangular box with 2-3 layers of protective wrap and a moisture obsorber. Plus the nice plastic Celestron lens screw case and top and bottom lens caps. I just can't say anything bad about these eyepieces. Well unless the weight would be something you wouldn't like. They aren't light, but not too heavy. Buy one of these if your looking to upgrade your eyepieces or before you stop using your telescope because of poor views.
Pros:
  • Great eye relief
  • Well packaged
  • Crisp, Clear views
  • parfocal
Cons:
  • None, except a little heavy
Best Used for:
  • Best for all 1.25" telescopes
