Failed right out of the box - Canik Mecanik M03 1x29mm Competition Reflex Red Dot Sight

I was excited to finally get my Mecanik MO3 to install on my new Rival S.

First problem arose was removing the battery cap with the awkward tool provided with the optic. The cap was very difficult to remove. I have other RDs that have a similar method of installing the battery and those are EASY to remove and reinstall. Not the MO3.

The battery was finally installed and again, the cap was difficult to replace. The red dot turned on ok but when the slide was racked, the optic turned off. I tried reseating the battery but to no avail. Reseating was not pleasant due to the battery compartment cap issue.

I bought another battery and tried that fix and it seemed to work. I was able to rack the slide multiple times with the optic operating normally.

The red dot zeroed readily at the range but after about 40 rounds, the optic stopped working. I had enough with this optic. I boxed it up, contacted OP for a return and mailed back requesting a refund.

On a positive note I liked the MO3 when it was operating properly. I really did.

But enough was enough.
