For the price not bad, for someone not skilled with working with stocks very bad. It was just as I thought it would be. After a lot of fitting and filling it is comparable to more expensive stocks. I filled in the voids and fitted to my rifle, now it looks, feels and holds well. Not too hard to carve, but hard enough combined with aluminum pillar beds and glass beading the rifle is a good shooter again. As a note this was placed on one of my hunting rifles and works well out to the 350 yards I have to work with. If you are not wanting to invest any additional money into a stock you will pay fo...

Stock did not fit my gun

by TREX, from AZ, United States Written on August 21, 2017
This Champion stock was advertised to fit a Remington model 660. The two mounting holes did not match up with the holes of my gun. I filed the stock front hole until the screws would screw in. The slot in the stock that holds the trigger guard was not long enough and that caused the plastic trigger guard to bow. When I forced every thing to fit and tightened down the bolt of the gun could not be pulled back. I called Champion for help and after talking to a service rep he asked what the caliber of my rifle was, I told him it was a 243 caliber. He then told me that there was nothing I could do to make the stock to work and to send the stock back to Campion with the receipt to show what I paid for the stock and they would refund my money. Have never heard a word or money from Campion.

Rem 788 short action stock

by LLB, from WY, United States Written on August 17, 2015
I have looked for some time for a replacement for my 788. This was priced right and am told that the Champion stock is an improvement on the Ramline. The directions for the product would more appropriately have one file the internal portion of the stock rather than filing on the action of the rifle. I would recommend it.

Champion Rifle Stock

by AZ Parson, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on July 9, 2015
The quality of the stock seems good. Since I'm installing it on a 300 Win Mag I'm curious about it's ability to withstand the recoil over time. But with my choices limited for an older model rifle I took a chance on an inexpensive stock. As I said the quality seems good however the fit is a bit sloppy. I only took one star off for this because it is an economy stock and I wasn't expecting a custom fit. However since it was designed for my model rifle I did expect it to be a bit better around the trigger guard. Overall, if your looking for an economical replacement stock, this one should fit the bill.

great replacement

by papabohner, from PA, United States Written on March 30, 2015
first time ordering from optic planet. Got my item quick, good service, stock was a perfect fit. No complaints, will order more from them. Finding a stock for my Ruger 77, was not easy for it has the tang safety. optic planet filled the bill. No sanding or fitment issues whatsoever.
