Choate sku 01-04-02 = +2 4 11-48 2 - Choate Tool Remington 870/1100/1187/Versamax 7 Shot Extension 12 Gauge+2 Rounds

TRANSLATION: "Choate +2 rounds mag extension for Remington 870/1100/11-87/Versamax fits 11-48 series 12 gauge shotguns too." At the risk of repeating what may have already been submitted here, I offer the following. Through research and experience I learned this device fits the 11-48 series of shotguns perfectly (including Sportsman and Mohawk). It does, however, leave a 1/4" gap between the extension and forearm WHICH CAN BE FILLED BEAUTIFULLY with the eye-piece locking ring from a cheap sacrificial 1" scope. In fact the finished product looks like it came from the factory. I fit one to my 11-48 using a slightly reamed out eye-piece locking ring from an old Tasco scope and, again, it looks like it came from the factory. I have yet to fire the weapon but have repeatedly loaded and cycled the now 6-shot mag tube with no hiccups. Be advised, using a spacer precludes the use of the detent/ball indexing/locking mechanism on these type shotguns, but a little gunsmithing (or blue locktite) could resolve that issue. FWIW, I have no experience with longer Choate extensions or those from other manufacturers.
