Fits both Pietta & Uberti revolvers
Will fit both Pietta & Uberti revolvers. Includes both hammer screws to fit both manufactures of black powder guns. The longer tightening screw that’s already assembled onto the steel stock will fit the colt 1860 style of the longer grip but if you plan on installing it on a colt 1851 with the smaller grip, it includes the hardware to switch it out and the two screws that are stainless, like the stock are the ones you change out in the revolver. And it doesn’t matter if your revolver has the rear bottom indentation in the grip for the wood style stock because the rear clip is just friction fit...

Wrong fit..
I have the Uberti and the Pietta 1860 Army revolvers with the notches on the housing for the shoulder stock to fit on, and although it is very well made and sturdy, it doesn't come close to a good fit for these makes of pistol, so I can only offer 2 stars.
Pros:
- Very well made
Cons:
- doesn't fit Uberti or Pietta 1860 Army
Would recommend: No
It's good...but
I have been searching for an actual wooden stock for an 1851/60 conversion and had to settle for this one.

I have two of these. One mounted on an 1851 pietta navy and on on an 1860 pietta army. They are fantastic.

Skeletal shoulder stock for Colt reproductions
This stock is actually a copy of stocks produced by Colt for the 1873 models, and uses a replacement hammer screw that extends out from the frame about 1/4" on each side. It has screws for both Uberti and Pietta replicas, and I installed it on a Pietta 1961 Navy clone. Note that many of the 1851/1860/1861 models have 4 side screws and recoil shield cutouts for the old wooden stocks; this will mount to pistols with or without those features. The stock also has two length bolts for the tension bolt, one for the smaller .36 caliber grip and one for the larger .44 caliber grip. The bottom hook is wider than the slot in the bottom of the grip used by the older wooden stocks, because it isn't intended to be used with slotted grips; this is a pro and a con, in that it will fit more guns, but has a bit of imprecision because of it. I used a small piece of scrap leather between the hook and the butt of the grip to provide more friction than the metal-on-metal contact provided, and that gives a more secure connection.
The result is not 100% authentic, since (based on my research) this style of stock dates from the cartridge era, but it is a fraction of the cost of a reproduction wood stock (if you can find one) and should function just as well.

more gunsmithing than expected
so first of all its nice to actually find a stock for these models
second this product requires a replacement of one screw on your revolver but first you must remove tension from the main spring
(all parts are provided)
the installation is not very intuitive and though you can take it off once it is installed it is not hot swapable
it is detachable but only on the one revolver you changed the screw on.
Once installed I found it hard to get a sight picture (to get my cheek low enough) might modify).
