Great trigger but…
Great trigger. Almost no creep and clean break. Now for the bad. If you have a semi auto safety selector, you will most likely need to buy a full auto safety selector. My gun ( arsenal sgl 31-61) had semi auto selector and won’t engage trigger. After replacing with full auto selector it works as it...

Safety selector problems
Best I can tell is you need a full auto type safety selector not a semi auto or the safety tang will not sit properly above but rather beside the rear of the trigger. This seems to cause more a friction fit binding from preventing the trigger being pulled than a true mechanical stoppage.
Works Great for Me
I've spent a good deal of money on aftermarket triggers for my AKs and have been disappointed in everyone of them until I purchased this CMC Drop-In Single Stage Trigger! I waited until it came up for sale when I bought it! About the same time the Timney AK trigger came up for sale so I purchased both of them on my two AKs. I have Timney triggers on all of my bolt action rifles and have always been pleased with them and thought it would be the same with their AK trigger. The poundage trigger pull is about the same. Both have a nice crisp break and the reset is pretty much the same. Both were fairly easy to install but I could not get the Timney trigger to go to the safety position after I dropped the trigger! I finally found a write up where the guy had the same problem! Bottom line, the Timney trigger will not go to the safety position with the hammer down! Aren't they supposed to close to keep dust and moisture out? The CMC trigger closes up nicely like the way that AK triggers are supposed to work safety closed with the hammer down! So when the CMC trigger came up for sale again, I bought another one and I'm going to take the Timney trigger out! I'm very pleased with the CMC trigger! It's everything I've always wanted in a trigger for an AK! It's revolutionized the AK! It isn't the sloppy, hard military trigger that it used to be! Get one! You won't be disappointed!
Pros:
- Easy to install
- great reset
- Nice clean break
- Way less poundage on the trigger pull
Cons:
- When you consider that it's an AK, there aren't any cons
Best Used for:
- Anything!
Would recommend: Yes
Fantastic upgrade
The only reason this didn’t get 5 stars is because it is slightly more difficult to install than another popular brand. (Which I have as well) the trigger feel. Trigger shoe appearance and absolutely incredible customer support makes this purchase a must for those looking for improved trigger feel. If you own a metal file and a set of Allen wrenches. If you have built an AR or if you can change your own cars oil. You will have no problem with installing this. So, don’t be concerned with the lack of that last star. I enjoy the installation process of parts requiring some fitting. So that star rating is really to grab your attention and make you aware that it’s not a brainless installation. CMC makes this clear in their installation videos as well. My last remark is, I considered both the 2.5 and 3.5lb variants. Went with 2.5. It really is 2.5. Incredibly light but also a long enough pull that it still feels safe. However in my opinion, for more aggressive use the 3.5lb might feel a bit more positive. But of course, that’s end user preference.
Pros:
- Great feel
Cons:
- Not an amateur install
Best Used for:
- Range days

safety doesnt function
Installed in my KP9 needed over 3mm of material removed for the bolt to clear the hammer CMC said to grind it down till it fits so I did. Then polished with finishing paper. Didn’t align to the pin holes without persuasion, but the biggest issue is the safety no longer functions. The trigger safety catch is significantly too far forward to make contact, can get it to “work” if you lift the dust cover and put the safety up about an inch past it’s normal stopping point to angle the stopper far enough forward. On top of all of that this trigger is mid at best. Just because it’s light does not mean it’s good. It’s mush start to finish with absolutely nothing to distinguish it from factory other than weight. Reset is ok but turns to mush again immediately after reset.
Pros:
- Nothing
Cons:
- Unsafe
- poor fitment
- Mushy trigger
- grinding required
Best Used for:
- scrap metal

I'll just look for another
The trigger failed to reset multiple times and many cases of burst fire. The trigger was easy to install and the pull is nice but this thing is a liability.
Pros:
- it works
Cons:
- Not as intended
Best Used for:
- Out of battery detonation

CMC 2.0 trigger
First off, i love CMC triggers in my ARs. Theyre light and crisp and have a short reset. This is much the same, however installing this trigger is kind of an endeavour. Maybe you will have an easier time than I, if so, im very glad for you.
You will most likely need a full auto safety, as a semi auto safety will probably contact the aluminum housing, and not work due to the trigger-safety interface surface being a different design altogether. You will not be able to use a retaining plate, and you must remove trigger from housing before dropping it in. You cannot remove the safety without having to disassemble the trigger either. I used the AK master mount FA safety and had to remove material from the trigger housing to clear the safety bar, as the safety bar was contacting the trigger housing and gouging out material. I also had to file some material off the bottom of the housing under the rear set screw to get proper pin alignment, and even then the rear pin took some fandangling to align before i could tap it into place as well. For those who may be considering this trigger, if you dont want to do any fitting, this isnt the one for you.
Otherwise it is a nice trigger, it is both smooth and crisp with 2/3 to 3/4 the takeup and reset of the factory trigger in my PSAK. However there is no discernible wall and its a guess as to where it will break, but its still more predictable than the factory trigger. In the future, i would probably go with a more traditional style trigger...

47407 is 2 to 2.5 lbs
Looks good, description has no pull weight listed. I have not purchased it yet. I an still deciding on flat or combat curved and 2.5 or 3.5 lbs. The prices vary due to popularity of each model by a lot, the triggers are all basically the same.

Good trigger
Actually a surprisingly easy install, for an ak. I saw some people saying it did not work well with dracos but fit mine perfectly no modifications. Even if it did not fit properly, it seems like most problems could be solved with a file. I really like the flat face and feather-light pull. Makes it really fun at the range. It has a really nice reset as well. I just wish the color was something more standard so it didnt stick out but oh well, I can change the color myself.
