TripleM's Review of CMMG 57 X 28mm Barrel And Bcg Kit
This is my second CMMG conversion kit. My first kit was a Gen1 that came with the 40-round magazine for 5.7x28mm, which was later recalled and replaced by CMMG with the 32-round magazine.
With the Gen1 kit, the recoil felt heavier than I expected for such a small cartridge. To manage it, I had to run an H3 buffer along with a weight from the CMMG tuning kit, which defeated the purpose of having a lightweight setup.
However, after trying a friend's newer Gen2 kit, I noticed he was able to run just a 3.0 oz carbon buffer weight and achieved the smooth recoil I was originally hoping for. I recently built a set up with this newer Gen2 version and am very happy with it—the build is significantly lighter, and follow-up shots are much improved.
