Solid handguard
I bought this for 7.5” piston build, using an Adams arms 7.5” piston kit and a faxon barrel, I needed to cut a fairly deep notch in the barrel nut, and also had to trim about 1/8” from the top rail in order to clear the rail height gas block of the piston kit. The modifications were easy enough (I have a lot of machine shop experience). Even with the modification the handguard installed very solid, not a lot of 7.5” length handguards these days and this one is very good for the price, nice and slim, and was easy to install.

Upgraded my older CMMG handguard - 7" with keymod
I have a CMMG carbine piston upper. I've had it for several years and wanted to upgrade the handguard to an m-lok version. I'm glad I did, the replacement handguard has a better anodized black finish that is darker than my current one (dark grayish). It also has a better barrel nut that it attaches to. My current barrel nut looked like the one pictured with the handguard, but the newer barrel nut that was received has a groove in it and comes with a metal tab that is installed with the handguard screws and keeps the handguard from sliding forward. Overall, a nice improvement over the previous version of the handguard.
