Most Helpful Positive Review Compatible with the Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch
The fit is close, but this ambi mag release doesn't impede on a Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch in any combination of either one pressed or depressed. Unlike the Troy ambidextrous mag release (which also works with the Maritime Bolt Catch), this doesn't mar the side of the lower in an odd location, and presents the left-side release button in a mirrored location to the standard right-side button. As the Troy button is forward and lower, rather than mirrored; the Troy is good for separating the mag release from the bolt controls, but in a non-standard location that doesn't look or feel as natural...

I really like the ambidextrous part of this. I’m not a big fam of the paddle. It fits very loose.

Amazing product, great feel

I have used another companies ambi mag release on my aero M16 lower and it was loose to the point where moving the rifle made a “click” sound, and it also never fully disengaged the magazine. This being said CMMG has always made decent products but this ambi release is next level, great response and disengages the magazine no problem! Also it doesn’t rub on the lower so any finish will not be ruined by this release

Ambig catch

CMMG makes good products easy to install but some reason on my combat wilson billet lower receiver it only wanted to work with lancer Mags, it hard time with pmags, change the ambig to another lower it work great.

Great product, it makes the mag much easier to release for lefties

The release extends past where the normal mag catch would be making this incompatible with the BAD lever, however, if you have small hands or a finned grip because you live in a place like California, it makes the release much easier to reach. PMAGS drop free with this.

very well designed, easy reach with index finger without breaking your grip hold. Best thing about it? Does not obstruct hammer pin. I also like the option on of an over size button on the right side. I plan to use this on all my AR platforms. Great values, good fit, superbly made.

Exactly what I was looking for

I have a ZRO Delta lower with a built-in ambi bolt release but not an ambi mag release. After looking at reviews, I decided to take a chance on this part. Install was easy and being a lefty, this has made for the fastest reload times I’ve ever recorded. It’s well made, it has plenty of surface area to press, and it’s a convenient distance for my trigger finger without being so bulky that you could accidentally press it. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again.

CMMG Ambi Mag Release

I am left handed so I try and build my AR’s Ambi Never had a problem with CMMG products and are priced in the middle I would say. The mag release went on without issue. Watch the mag plastic button it has a cut out to match the screw on metal button. The small hex screw is 5/64. Used a little Loc Tight because I don’t want to lose that screw. Matches the rest of my FN

  • None just pay attention to the plastic button divot
Best Used for:
  • Left handed shooter without a BAD lever that might get in the way
