Coast HL8 Headlamp
Put the battery pack in a vest pocket. I spent the last year trying to replace my old headlamp. This is better than my old one for blood-trailing at night with dogs.

The three position on switch is stiff, intermittent and should have been variable. The beam focus is very hard to turn one handed and needs to be smooth and easy. The head positioning is also very stiff and needs to hands to adjust. Waited 4 months for delivery and should have not ordered.

Alpaca rancher
Already own one of these lights and use it quite often. During walleye season I fish nightly 9pm-3-4am . The light fills the area nicely no shaded areas. Just like looking around during daylight hours. Having that level of light comes in handy while tieing up fishing line or getting hooks out of fish and an occasional finger. My reason for getting another one is because I took mine off and set it down and closed a tackle box right on the wire by the light. It was clipped and no more light. So I now have this one and an one HL27 also for spare.

I'm never the type to write a review but this product completely exceeded all of my expectations. The high beam makes the area in front of me seem as though it is daylight. The operating and focusing is very simple to use with one hand. What a great product !

bright head worn lamp
Needed bright and I got it.
Weight is not an issue .
Seems well built .
Good run time on the batteries.
Range in a moonless night was a real 75 yards where full identification was needed.
Review too short message........if I was hunting bigfoot this is the right item for the job.

A very good product.
This light I have found very helpful. I work in a mechanic shop on ag equipment. It is very bright, I wouldn't want it to be brighter for what I use it for, because it tends to glare off of the machinery when in tight spaces. There is a couple of things that I would see as improvements. Since it drains batteries every 2 hrs or so, it would be nice if it would have a rechargeable battery pack that would last longer. The other thing that I think would be a plus is if the battery case would be smaller, so that it does not get caught on things behind my head, and so you can rest your head more comfortably when you are under a piece of equipment.

Coast headlamp
I've owned many coast products, this one works as described. The battery life is much longer than most high-powered headlamps. The controls are easy to use and the adjustable being makes it great for many applications. Thanks again coast.
