Batteries won’t come out
This was a great flashlight right up to the point I had to replace the batteries. The sleeve got stuck and nothing would free it. My $80 flashlight is now worthless. I see from other reviews this is a common problem due to defective design.
Coast hp550 flashlight
Same as the one I just read great light until you go to change the batteries you can't get them out save your money and buy something that works better this is a one use light when the batteries die through it out not a good purchase unless you have money to throw away.
Pros:
- Nice light output
- Can't change batteries
Cons:
- Can't change batteries

Stuck battery case
This is a great flashlight until the batteries leak. I thought mine was useless until I discovered how to get the batteries out. I found that a 1 1/2 in. plastic bathroom sink drain tailpiece fits over the threads. Then you can use momentum to get the batteries out if not stuck in too bad. Just pound the plastic tailpiece against a solid object. It may take 5-10 hits to get them out.
Pros:
- Great light
Cons:
- battery gets stuck
Would recommend: Yes

Mr. G. disappointment
I would never buy coast product. In less then a year could not take apart and put new batteries in. Look up I could do, no longer useable. No recall or replacement the most I every paid for junk. You want 200 words well any body make such a poor short life product. That became junk in less then year well what do you say. I then but steal batteries in it, should know that the these two metals do not mix well.
Pros:
- good light will it work
Cons:
- junk in less then a year

Bad design
Batteries that come installed new should be removed immediately and replaced with ones that will not rust inside and making this flash light just a piece of junk. Should never place metal batteries inside an aluminum sleeve. It's just a very poor design flaw.
