Great Knife, Lousy Sheath
INMHO Cold Steel makes great, reasonably priced knives in a wide variety of configurations to fit nearly any purpose. The Kobun is no exception to this. Mine came out of the box razor sharp, with no visible imperfections, a nice thick piece of steel with that distinctive Tanto point. HOWEVER, the Secure-Ex sheath that came with my knife was a very poor fit. If you turned the sheath upside down the knife would come flying out. belt clip,cmon u could have done better
the sheathe and retention is great,love the knife,beautiful craftsmanship.the belt clip is horrid,please toss that design asap.

Back up blade
This would be my first Cold Steel knife purchase and I am overly happy. This blade is sharp straight out of the box, the sheath has a positive retention click, rubber handle is odd but provides good grip in wet environments and the blade came with a protective oil coating. The only issue now is whether I should mount it to a plate carrier or bug out bag. I might just buy another to solve that issue.
