I had an earlier Walkabout. My son did more hiking than I did. He used the original hiking the Colorado Trail, parts of the Appalachian Trail, climbing Superstition Mountain. Since he was using the wooden Walkabout all the time. I decided to get me one. The new model was synthetic. I was a little taken back since I really liked the original but I got one. I really have liked it. Very durable, good for walking and I'm betting good for defense.
