Cheaply made in China
These are metal, but the end quality is clear that it was made quickly without inspection.Item was cheaply made in China. I have had better quality mess kits before. I thought that this one would be the same quality. The aluminum is very thin, so would become easily damaged over multiple uses over time and packing with other items.

The Norse Horse
It is light weight, cheap, compact, what is not to like? It is as loud as my 4 year old playing with a hammer in a room made of snap caps, or it was. I found putting paper towels between the parts kept the clanging to a low roar while inside my pack. That said this set will get you by and should last many trips. Great for 1-2 people I would invest in several of these if you are feeding more than two people with any sort of appetite. For the lone wolf, a couple of people who don't eat a lot, or a family of runway models, this set will suffice.
