I placed a 2 10 pound plates it holds but one day it will rip but I mainly got the vest for the side mag holders. The back does stick out cause of the plate. But it's a great product. I'm mainly wearing it as a weight training gear does its job perfect doing jobs around the house stuck some screwdrivers in the molle holes and holds up. A smooth light vest with out my added weights. If it rips I'll buy another one. I had it about 2 weeks. I yeah was annoying on my shoulders with out a shirt but with a shirt I don't notice it Maybe the "hook and loop" be flipped or stiching looked into. A basic dark blue shirt with the gray carrier looks great in the mirror I didn't want the same basic black or white colors. I haven't tried ak mags but hand cuffs "fit"
