Expert Review

Good value

by Matt S., Gear Expert from IL, United States Written on January 16, 2020
Lots of value packed into this scope.

If you are looking for a FFP 6-24x, this is the scope for you.

Really great glass is at the heart of this optic with an etched glass reticle. While I do really like the reticle, it would be nice to see other reticle options offered. I also would have preferred center only illumination.

Overall construction is solid, turrets have a good tactile click, and the magnification ring turns smoothly.

Free batteries for life is a nice little touch as well
Most Helpful Positive Review Best bang for your buck
This is one of these best scope for the value on the market. It has very clear glass and build quality is impressive for a 650$ optic. If you don't want to break the bank on a long range optic I would take a strong look at this one. Only downfall is no zero stop, but people have been getting by just fine in the past without it. Japanese made with Japanese glass. This is also better deal than the pst gen 2 or other similar optics. It is pretty heavy but feels like it's a tank. If weight is an issue, go to the gym. Lots of quality and features for the money here.

Best value

by Travis, from WA, United States Written on March 17, 2020
Cannot go wrong for the value, Best bang for the buck. Only downfall is no Sunshade, but CT it makes up for with clarity no blurring at full magnification. I believe this keeps up with other scopes that are three times the price.
Pros:
  • Clarity
Cons:
  • No sunshade
Best Used for:
  • Hunting or Target

CT 6-24x56mm Series II

by Jeff, from CA, United States Written on March 5, 2020
Great scope so far, glass is on par with a PST gen II or burris XTR II. Took a chance and glad I did, this scope performs like a $1200 scope at half the price. Tracks very well on multiple box tests. Turrets are tactile and well marked, parallax and mag rings are a little stiff but not enough to hinder operation of the optic. Eyebox is tight but no more so than most Vortex optics excluding the Razor product line. Paid $550 on sale and guarantee you are to be hard pressed to find a optic with these features and quality at this price point. A budget buster to embarrass off all your Vortex, SHV-1, Burris XTR owning friends.
Pros:
  • Price, clear glass, FFP reticle, lifetime warranty
Cons:
  • No sun shade
  • TIGHT Eye Box
Best Used for:
  • PRS, ELR shooting, ranging long distance targets.

Great scope great price

by Josh, from TX, United States Written on June 29, 2019
I don’t know what it is about 34mm scopes but all seem to be much more expensive that 30mm. The Crimson Trace 2 series 6x24 is the best value 34mm scope on the market. I am very satisfied with this scope. Pros: price and value, durable construction, does not feel cheap, FFP, illuminated reticle, tracks very well, holds zero very well, great brand name, lifetime warranty. Cons: no turret locks which means I was constantly setting them back to zero after transporting the rifle, I wish the reticle had more hash marks like the Burris XTR scope-but this scope is 25% cheaper so I’m not too disappointed, the illuminated reticle is not bright enough for sunny days but that doesn’t really matter IMO— it is plenty bright at night and dusk
