Mick's Review of Crimson Trace LG-422 Laserguard
You reach an age where you still want to be good with iron sights (iron sites don't need good batteries to work) but bifocals mean you see the sights or you see the target. Red dot is nice, but if the battery or glass fails, you still need tall sights so you can see through the optic. This laser does not require messing with your iron sights. The LG-422 Laserguard is easy to install, works properly if you have a firm grip of the gun, and easy to adjust to sight in correctly. Using your instinctive grip activates the laser. If the laser should fail, (and so far my other lasers have not) the iron sites are still there with unobstructed view. When properly sighted in, the laser on the target is where the projectile should hit. You will find you shoot quicker, can follow up with quicker shots, and yes, dry firing will show you how much you actually shake when pulling the trigger. This is the third pistol I have added a laser.
Pros:
- Great in the dark where iron sights are difficult to see.
- No glass like red dot and easier with bifocals than iron sights to see.
Cons:
- requires battery replacement
Best Used for:
- If you wear bifocals
